BOI, or Binding Origin Information, is a mechanism used by the European Union to provide advance rulings on the origin of goods for the purpose of customs duties and trade policies.
Under the BOI system, businesses can apply to the customs authorities of an EU member state for a binding decision on the origin of their goods. The decision is based on a detailed description of the product and its production process, and takes into account factors such as the origin of raw materials and components, the processing activities performed, and any other relevant information.
