Release Notes: Contacts Module Revamp & Validation Enhancements
- Product Modules: Contacts Management & Global Declarations (CDS/NCTS/ICS2/ROS/S&SGB)
- Release Status: Production
1. Feature Summary
Our revamped Contacts Module is successfully live as of today, 7 July 2026. This release shifts our system behavior to give you total operational flexibility by removing category constraints, while enforcing smart duplicate checks and strict, preemptive validation layers to safeguard your data integrity and prevent customs rejections.
2. Key Enhancements & Behavioral Changes
Implemented Duplicate Contact Prevention
- Anti-Duplication Guard: To keep your address book clean and organized, we have implemented smart validation layers that actively block the creation of duplicate contacts. The system will scan existing entries to ensure you do not accidentally create repetitive database records.
Removal of Category Validations
- No More Category Constraints: We have eliminated strict category classifications during contact creation. You are no longer restricted by rigid entity rules, allowing you to save profiles exactly how your business requires.
Inline Contact Updates Inside Declaration Forms
- You no longer need to exit your active workflow to fix or change an address. If you notice an error while completing a declaration, you can now update the master contact details directly inside the active declaration form interface.
Preemptive Submission Blockers (Anti-Rejection Guard)
- To protect you from receiving immediate rejections from customs authorities, we have added upfront validation checks. If a contact record is missing business-critical values (such as an EORI number, street name, or country code), the system will actively block the declaration from being submitted.
- You will be prompted with a clear validation error message, and you must fix the missing contact data before the platform allows final submission.
3. Mandatory Action: Download Updated Bulk Templates
CRITICAL ACTION REQUIRED FOR SPREADSHEET IMPORTS Due to structural enhancements accompanying these validation updates, legacy data import templates for both Contacts and ICS2 have been deprecated.
Please download and use the latest templates immediately for your bulk workflows:
- Contacts Bulk Upload
- ICS2 Declaration Bulk Upload
4. Support & Feedback Channel
If your team encounters any issues with the new duplicate checks, inline validation rules, or data mapping templates, please open a ticket with our technical support team.
