We know that managing a contact list can quickly become a headache—especially when you’re dealing with duplicate entries or having to fill out the same information across different parts of the system. To fix this, we’ve completely reworked how contacts work in our TDR (Sandbox) environment.

What we’ve fixed:
- Simplified Creation: Now, you can create a contact by providing just the Name and EORI, or Name and Address. We’ve removed the redundant categories that were just getting in the way.
- No More Duplicates: It’s frustrating to have five contacts for the same company. We’ve added much stronger validation rules that catch duplicates before they’re created, keeping your list clean and reliable.
- Edit While You Work: If you’re in the middle of a CDS declaration and notice a contact's details are wrong, you can now edit them directly within the form. You don’t have to leave your draft or open a new tab to keep your records updated.
- Use Anywhere: Once a contact is saved, it’s available across the entire platform. Whether you’re moving from CDS to NCTS, the data follows you.
- Fix Errors Before Submission: To save you from annoying rejections, the system now checks for mandatory information in real-time. For example, if a Declarant is missing an EORI in a CDS entry, the UI will clearly flag this. You’ll be prompted to fix it before you can submit.
We’ve built this to save you time and reduce errors, but we want to make sure it works for your specific workflow. Please try it out in the sandbox and let us know if it feels easier to use or if you run into any snags. Your feedback helps us get it right before the final launch.
Note:
The Bulk Upload template hasn’t been updated in TDR yet. We’re keeping the current version for now and will roll out the new, simplified template when we move these changes to the Live environment.
