How to Do HMRC Authentication

Overview

If your HMRC authorisation has not been completed, has expired, or you need to re-authorise your account, follow the steps below to complete the HMRC authorisation or re-authorisation process in iCustoms using your HMRC Government Gateway credentials.

Steps to Authorise with HMRC

  1. Go to Settings
    Log in to iCustoms and navigate to Settings.


  2. Select the Authentications tab
    Click the Authentications tab.


  3. Select HMRC User Authentication
    Select HMRC User Authentication to begin the authorisation process.


  4. Open the HMRC authentication page
    You will be redirected to the HMRC Authentication page.


  5. Allow iCustoms to connect to HMRC
    Click Continue to allow iCustoms to connect with HMRC.


  6. Sign in to the HMRC online service
    Click Sign in to the HMRC online service. You will be redirected to the HMRC Government Gateway login page.


  7. Enter your Government Gateway credentials
    Enter the Government Gateway credentials linked to your organisation's EORI.


  8. Sign in
    Click Sign in to continue.


  9. Give permission
    Click Give Permission to allow iCustoms to connect with HMRC.


  10. Verify the authorisation
    Once the authorisation is successful, return to iCustoms and verify that your HMRC authorisation status has been updated.


Note: 

  • For Safety & Security GB declarations, ensure you use your organisation’s EORI linked to the HMRC Government Gateway account.
