Template & Merge

Overview

The Template & Merge feature allows you to create templates from existing drafts, create new drafts from templates, and merge template data into an existing draft.

Draft to Template

You can create a template from an existing draft.

When a draft is converted into a template, all General-level and Item-level data from the draft will be included in the template, including data entered in repeaters.

Template to Draft

You can also create a new draft using an existing template.

When a template is used to create a draft, the General-level and Item-level data stored in the template will be transferred to the new draft, including repeater data.

Merge Template

The Merge Template option allows you to merge data from a template into an existing draft.

Both General-level and Item-level data from the template can be merged into the draft.

The merge is applied based on the item level. The first item in the template is mapped to each item in the draft, so the template data is applied to every draft item. 

Note:

• If a cell already contains data in the draft, the existing data will not be overwritten by the template.
• If a cell is empty, the corresponding data from the template will be added.
• Repeater data will also be included during the merge.
